Meeting with members of the Ukraine-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on February 27, 2023.

Prospects for the development of bilateral relations of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, further expansion of relations in various spheres of activity, as well as issues of regional security were discussed during the meeting,.

The current political dialogue plays an important role in the development of relations between the two countries based on the principles of international law, in particular the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and the inviolability of international borders were emphasized. The activities of the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian interparliamentary friendship groups at the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani interparliamentary friendship groups at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in expanding relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine were highly appreciated.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalaf Khalafov informed the other side in detail about the steps taken by Azerbaijan in the direction of the implementation of the peace agenda in the region and the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The head of the friendship group Volodymyr Kreidenko expressed his gratitude to state and people of Azerbaijan for the position of the Azerbaijani side and the humanitarian aid provided.

Opinions were exchanged on a number of issues of mutual interest during the meeting as well.
