Throughout his eventful political career, Heydar Aliyev was always close to Ukraine. It is no coincidence that the concert takes place in this amazing hall, because it was Heydar Aliyev who helped raise funds for the restoration of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.
The ambassador emphasized that the deepening of the strategic partnership between the two countries based on Heydar Aliyev's legacy is being successfully continued today by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
"Undoubtedly, Heydar Aliyev's greatest wish was to restore the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. This dream of his came true in 2020 under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev," the ambassador added.
