Ambassador Seymur Mardaliyev met with the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Svetlana Grinchuk
The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be held in Baku is the third climate summit in which Ukraine will participate. We will have our own pavilion here. The COP29 platform is a unique opportunity to promote our environmental agenda.
AZERTAC reports that the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Svetlana Grinchuk expressed this opinion in a meeting with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan Seymur Mardaliyev.
"Within the framework of the summit, it is important for us not only to present the achievements of Ukraine, but also to become an active participant in the events of partner countries and establish new international relations," the minister added.
Thanking Azerbaijan for its support to Ukraine, Svetlana Grinchuk said that Ukraine is making intensive preparations for COP29. "These are the renewal of global goals, negotiations on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, new partners, new documents and other issues. "We are doing everything to use all the opportunities of the UN Climate Summit COP29 for the benefit of Ukraine," said Svetlana Grinchuk.
Ambassador Seymur Mardaliyev noted that Azerbaijan will spare no effort to strengthen cooperation for a more sustainable and stable world against climate change at COP29. Azerbaijan aims to bring the countries of the world together, as well as promote the spirit of cooperation in order to solve climate challenges, and believes that Ukraine will contribute to this.
The ambassador also noted that Azerbaijan is ready to help Ukraine in the field of environmental restoration.
