Irpin City Polyclinic officially relaunched after major renovation with financial support of Azerbaijan

On April 28, 2025, an event was held in Irpin city of Kyiv oblast, to mark the reopening of the city polyclinic, the restoration of which was completed with the support of the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and implemented by SOCAR Energy Ukraine.

Before the event, on the occasion of the 102nd birthday of the outstanding ophtalmologist Zarifa Aliyeva the participants of the event visited the park in Irpin named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva and laid flowers. The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Mishchenko and Head of Kyiv Regional State Administration Mykola Kalashnyk, Acting Mayor of Irpin Angela Makeeva, Head of UNICEF Representative Office in Ukraine Munir Mamedov, Secretary General of GUAM Altay Efendiyev, Diplomat of the World Health Organization Representative Office in Ukraine Ogtay Gozalov, Head of Cooperation of the Embassy of the United Kingdom Shane McLaughlin, as well as Executive Director of SOCAR Energy Ukraine Elchin Mamedov and the company staff, the director and students of the humanitarian lyceum "Lingvist" named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva, local diaspora activists, representatives of the public and the media. After laying flowers in front of the monument, students of the lyceum "Lingvist" recited poems in Azerbaijani language.

Speaking at the event to mark the opening of the polyclinic, Ambassador Seymur Mardaliyev spoke about the work done to restore this medical facility. He highlighted other infrastructure projects implemented and planned by Azerbaijan in Irpin, as well as its multifaceted humanitarian assistance initiatives to Ukraine.

Then, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Development of Communities and Territories Oleksiy Kuleba, Governor of Kyiv Region Mykola Kalashnyk, Vice Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Olena Kondratyuk, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleksandr Mishchenko, and Deputy Minister of Health Ihor Kopach, delivering speech expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev, the state and people of Azerbaijan for the support provided to the city of Irpin and Ukraine, and emphasized that Azerbaijani-Ukrainian cooperation is constantly developing and deepening. After the speeches, the guests, most of whom were ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic corps, were introduced to the restoration work being carried out at the polyclinic and visited the shelter, prepared taking in accordance all the requirements of air defense.

The event continued in the format of a cocktail organized by SOCAR Energy Ukraine in the park named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva. During the informal talks , the guests highly appreciated the projects implemented by Azerbaijan in Ukraine, a number of representatives of the diplomatic corps were interested in the process of project implementation and expressed interest in the development of similar projects.
