Meeting held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrey Sibiga

On September 24, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrey Sibiga within the framework of the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The sides discussed the existing political, economic, energy, humanitarian cooperation and regional issues.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Andrey Sibiga on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

At the meeting, the importance of the continuous position of both countries regarding the support of territorial integrity and sovereignty within the internationally recognized borders was noted.

Azerbaijan's humanitarian aids to Ukraine, including support for recovery and reconstruction works, were highly appreciated.

The sides assessed the current political dialogue between the two countries as one of the main factors contributing to the development of bilateral political-diplomatic relations.

At the same time, new opportunities for cooperation within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) were discussed at the meeting.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed about the current state of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia during the post-conflict period, the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in territories liberated from occupation.

  

They also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
