Cultural heritage of Azerbaijan is presented in Kyiv
Event dedicated to the anniversary of the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence was held in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv.
As AZERTAJ reports, representatives of the local community, embassies of foreign countries, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, cultural figures, students and teachers of the Irpin city "Linguist" Lyceum named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva took part in the event organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine at the National Children's Library of Ukraine.
The national anthems of Azerbaijan and Ukraine were performed at the begining. Then a documentary film about the historical and cultural values of Azerbaijan was shown.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliyev, who spoke at the event, noted that in the first years of independence, Azerbaijan faced many internal and external problems, including the occupation of its lands by Armenia, and overcame serious challenges. "In those difficult times, national leader Heydar Aliyev saved Azerbaijan from the crisis, after which the period of development of our country began. Today, we are proud that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, our country confidently continues on the path of progress and development," the ambassador emphasized.
Diplomat noted that holding the Day of Azerbaijani Culture in Ukraine is an embodiment of friendship between our countries and cultural exchange.
Ambassador informed the guests in detail about the COP29 conference, which will be held in Baku, told about Azerbaijan's provision of humanitarian aid to Ukraine during the war, reconstruction works.
Director of the National Children's Library of Ukraine, Alla Hordiienko, in her speech spoke about the contribution of such events to the development of intercultural relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. At the event, songs and poems devoted to Azerbaijan were sung, and a play was presented. Students of the "Linguist" lyceum named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva performed a poem in the Azerbaijani language.
In the end, the guests examined the book "Cultural values of the Azerbaijani people" presented in the library fund and got acquainted with the exhibition of national costumes and attributes of Azerbaijan.
